Anderacha is part of the Sheka zone in Ethiopia. Coffees coming from this region are classified with their own "Coffee growing Area" based on the Commercial Coffee Contractsfrom the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX). Anderacha is located in the south-west part of Ethiopia.
Although this region is not widely well known for coffee, we have found great potential due to the cleanliness of floral notes presenting in the coffee.
Traceability of Ethiopian coffees
When buying coffee through the ECX trading system lots purchased from the Anderacha area are not differentiated by mill due to current government regulations.
Project Origin Cupping notes
87 Points. Aromatics of citrus and florals, lime-like acidity and a silky, delicate mouth feel. Medium weight and candy sweetness this unique coffee tastes like orange, white grape, apricot, stone fruit and mandarin with florals reminiscent of lemongrass, herbs and jasmine.
Processing details: Coffees grow in small farmers backyards. These coffees are known as "Garden coffee" and they are harvested from October-January. The lots get combined in washing stations, depulped and dry fermented. After rinsing the last bit of mucilage the coffee gets dried on African beds for 10-15 days. The lots are then sold through ECX and put through further screening processes according to Project Origin's quality standards.
